1. Overview
Morse Code Maker (morsecodemaker.com) is a free, browser-based tool for translating text to Morse code and decoding Morse code back to text. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Morse Code Maker does not require any account creation, login, or personal information to use. All translation and audio processing happens entirely within your browser — no text you enter is ever transmitted to our servers.
2.2 Automatically Collected Data
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may collect:
- Pages visited and time spent
- General geographic region (country/city level)
- Browser type and device category
- Referral source (how you arrived at the site)
This data is aggregated and anonymised. We do not collect IP addresses beyond what Google Analytics collects and anonymises automatically.
3. Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish users and sessions. These are first-party analytics cookies and do not contain personally identifiable information.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by:
- Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Using a browser with tracking protection enabled (e.g. Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection)
- Enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings
4. How We Use the Information
Analytics data is used solely to:
- Understand which features are most useful
- Identify and fix technical issues
- Improve content and user experience
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for advertising purposes.
5. Third-Party Services
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Google Fonts may log the font requests. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
We use Cloudflare Pages to host the site. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP address, headers) for security and performance. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
We do not store any personal data on our own servers. Analytics data retained by Google is subject to Google's data retention settings (default: 14 months).
7. Children's Privacy
Morse Code Maker is a general-purpose tool suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws, including the right to access, correct, or delete data collected about you. Since we do not store personal data ourselves, most requests would need to be directed to Google (for Analytics data).
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
